A Time For Thanksgiving

This sure is a great time of year, isn’t it? For a few weeks now the weather has been tipping us off to the fact that the holiday season is right around the corner. But no matter how cold and wintry it gets, it’s just not the holiday season until the turkey hits the table!

For some of you Thanksgiving will be time spent with family and friends. For others it will simply be a much needed break. But no matter where you are, who you are with or what you are doing this Thanksgiving, you have reason to be thankful. And that reason is simple. “The Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Your God really is good. His love really does endure forever. If you need proof, just look at his faithfulness. When the crown of his creation disobeyed him, instead of destroying them and starting over, God made a promise—a promise to save! And he was faithful to that promise. How so? By taking the punishment you and I deserve upon himself. All because he really is good!  All because he really does love us! So much so that he died for us.

That’s who Jesus is. Not just some really good man—he’s your good God—he’s your loving God—he’s your faithful God—and most importantly of all, he’s your Savior God! This Thanksgiving, join me in showing thanks to our Savior God—join me in reading Psalm 100!

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise is name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”  – Psalm 100

From all the folks at Living Shepherd, Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!!
