What do you think? Is it possible to genuinely serve someone without love? When you were a child, your parents served your needs by cleaning you up from some messes that most others wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole. Why is that? Why are parents willing to deal with blow out diapers when others are not?
When those roles reverse and the child, now grown, serves their elderly parents’ needs in an ironically similar way, why are the children willing to serve?
In both cases, the answer has to be love, doesn’t it? Parents serve their children because they love them. Children serve their parents because they love them. But what happens when you don’t really love someone? Is it still possible to serve them?
In order to answer that question, and others, this Sunday at Living Shepherd we’ll hear Jesus teaching his disciples about service and love. Read through John chapter 13 for a preview!
Blessings on the rest of your week and see you Sunday!
