John the Baptist was drawing such large crowds, impacting so many people, Jewish leadership just had to figure out who he was. It seems people were talking and rumors were spreading. Some thought John might be the Christ—the promised Messiah. Other’s thought he might be Moses back from the dead. And if he wasn’t Moses or the Messiah, maybe he was Elijah! All John could say, was “I am not…”
Then one day Jesus walked by and John couldn’t help himself as he pointed and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” John wasn’t the Savior the world needed so desperately—he just had the privilege of introducing people to him. And so do I.
If you and I were to meet, only for you to forget all about me the next day, you haven’t lost anything. But if you meet Jesus and forget him, you’ve lost everything.
I’d love to have a chance to introduce you to Jesus—or reintroduce you to him—in this new year. He took away the world’s sin. That means your sin has definitely been taken away! And he’s so much more. Join us this Sunday at Living Shepherd for an introduction to Jesus!
Blessings on your weekend!
