Who is Jesus? Why does he matter? What’s the big deal? For 2 millennia, people have wanted to know the answer to questions like these. That clearly hasn’t changed today. CNN has been running a series for two years called “Finding Jesus: Faith, Fact, Forgery.” Bill O’Reilly’s book “Killing Jesus” has sold over 1 million copies, debuted at #1 on the NY Times best seller list and was on the list for 52 weeks.
These are just two examples, but if you pay for television you know how often specials, documentaries and “docuseries” flood the airwaves that try to answer the question who is/was/might Jesus (be.)
This Sunday at Living Shepherd, we’re going to see Jesus ride into Jerusalem on the first Palm Sunday. Some people praise him with shouts of Hosannah! (Save us! Please!) Others recognize Jesus to be the Son of David who comes in the name of the Lord. Still others ask, “Who is this?”
We’ll ask the same question. “Who is this” man riding into Jerusalem on a colt, the foal of a donkey? Why does he matter? What’s the big deal?
We hope you can join us at Living Shepherd for the answer! If you’re not able to join us at Living Shepherd, you can tune in via Facebook Live as we’ll be broadcasting from my personal Facebook account (Peter Zaferos).
God bless the rest of your week!
